I like to use a neutral palette with some pops of color in accents, that way is super easy to change them once you get bored. I also like to play with textures, in order to make a space feel cozier and inviting. I´m a believer in making a house feel more like home using personal items and family photos.
I love starting with timelessly designed pieces and mixing in more personal style, whether that is contemporary, rustic, or coastal, to create an eclectic spin on a classic style that is unique without being trendy.
I would have to say my favorite design aesthetic would be Eclectic. With eclectic you can bring so many different design styles and periods together to create an unique space that speaks to your client.
I have a strong preference for design aesthetics that incorporates natural materials and elements such as wood, stone, metal, and glass. I prefer these materials since more than 99% of human history happened while surrounded by nature, which we evolve to react to, not the artificial environment we are used to. That's why I prefer to use natural materials or designs that evoke nature. I also love animals, and I run a pet-friendly interior design blog https://barkandchase.com
Currently, I'm completely enthralled by a cozy, eclectic and traditional style. I've always been fascinated by mixing of textures and prints, but I'm so glad to see this bold style and color is back in fashion! To me, it makes even a modern space feel warm and homey. However, since I recently moved to near Charleston, my personal home is a mix of fun color and classic coastal.
I'm a huge fan of designs that includes natural elements like wood, jute, cane, stone, glass and indoor plants. I love light and clean aesthetic styles that combine Scandinavian and Contemporary pieces but rooted in classical and traditional design because they create a meaningful and relaxing space.
No matter the specific aesthetic, I love marrying form and function in an attempt to create spaces that feel elegant, enlivened, easy and engaging. I enjoy partnering with my clients to pull together different style inspirations with the needs of their space to create a look and feel that's all their own.
I love the coastal aesthetic—it's fresh, airy, and effortlessly inviting. It embraces light, neutral tones like sandy beige, crisp whites, and ocean blues, often paired with natural materials like driftwood, rattan, and linen. The look is casual yet refined, bringing a sense of tranquility and openness. Whether inspired by tropical beaches or classic New England shores, coastal design captures the essence of waterfront living with a timeless, calming charm.
Depending on the project, I mix new classic, modern rustic, and mid-century styles with quiet luxury. Clean lines, natural materials, and matte finishes bring a serene, sophisticated feel with subtle elegance.
